Christopher Glen Dickinson, 69, of Carthage, passed away at his home on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 9:05 A.M.

Chris was born March 25, 1945, in Birmingham, England, the son of Glen Boston and Ethel Ann (Reay) Dickinson. Chris graduated from Carthage High School in 1963 and then went on to Quincy Technical School for 2 years. He served in the U.S. Army and received his Honorable Discharge in 1967. Chris was a member of First Baptist Church in Carthage since 1966 and had been the Sunday school secretary since 1968. He also served as a deacon, trustee, and usher. Chris had worked at Good Apple in Carthage and also as a janitor for many years retiring in 2007. He had served as president of A.T.A. #219.

Chris is survived by his girlfriend of 31 years, Linda Fecht. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Carthage on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. with burial to follow in Moss Ridge Cemetery in Carthage. Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Tuesday evening at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage. Memorials may be directed the First Baptist Church in Carthage or the Salvation Army. Printy Funeral Home of Carthage is in charge of arrangements.

    I became acquainted with Chris when he worked as our custodian at the Presbyterian church in Carthage. I last saw him when he rode with me out to Harold Massie’s graveside services. Chris was a good man. He will be missed.
