McKenzie Lee Doremus, 35, of New Caney, TX, formerly of Carthage, IL, passed away at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her family.
McKenzie was born in Carthage, Illinois, on December 18, 1988, the daughter of Gary Rampley and Connie (Shipe) Wear. She graduated from Carthage High School in 2007. McKenzie loved to play softball and was offered a scholarship to play in college. She ultimately chose to get her associate degree in Surgical Technology from John Wood Community College. She went on to work as a Surgical Technologist for Great River Health. On September 14, 2014, McKenzie was united in marriage to Ryan Doremus in St. Louis, MO. They share two boys together, Cadence and Maddox. She loved spending time with her boys and taking them to play. McKenzie was known by many as the life of the party. She enjoyed spending time with her friends from work and catching up with her friends from back home.
McKenzie is survived by her husband, Ryan Doremus, of New Caney, TX; her sons, Cadence and Maddox Doremus, her mother, Connie Wear, of New Caney, TX, and her sister, Amy Cook, of Arizona.
She is preceded in death by her father, Gary Rampley, and her brother, Nathan Earls.
A funeral service will be held at 10 am on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage with burial to follow at South Cemetery in Basco, Illinois. Printy Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
