Byard Leon Thomas

Byard Leon Thomas, 88, of Fallbrook, California, formerly of Carthage passed away at his home Monday evening, May 20, 2019.

Byard was born January 15, 1931, the son of Hubert and Goldie (Siegfried) Thomas in Burnside, Illinois.  He attended LaHarpe High School graduating in 1949.  On August 31, 1957, he was united in marriage to Verna Fecht at the Immanuel Lutheran Church south of Carthage. 

Byard is survived by his wife, Verna, of Fallbrook, California; two sons, Gary (Melissa) Thomas and Rob Thomas, both of Fallbrook; a daughter, Joyce Edinger Reyna of Texas; seven grandchildren, Nick, Jeremy and Shawn Thomas, Darin Thomas, Katie Peguese, Kelsey Burkhart and Ryan Edinger; three great grandchildren, Franklin Thomas, Alaina Armijo and Eliana Peguese; two brothers, Pete Thomas and Keith Thomas; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Joan and Thelma; and three brothers, Lloyd, Vernon and Wayne.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage on Saturday, May 25, 2019, with burial to follow in Moss Ridge Cemetery in Carthage.  Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until time of services at 11:00 at the funeral home.
