Edwin Joseph Mason

Edwin J. Mason, 93, of Carthage, passed away 9:45 P.M. Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Memorial Hospital in Carthage.

Edwin was born March 17, 1925, the son of Albert and Anna (Shaffer) Mason in Ursa, Illinois.  In July of 1984 he was united in marriage to Barbara Joan Hasten in Burnside, Illinois.  She preceded him in death in 2006.  Edwin had worked on barges in his younger years.

Edwin is survived by his sister, Shirley Phillips of Warsaw; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara; five brothers, Luther, James, Everett, Samuel and Harold; and two sisters, Mary Nichols and Leola Graham; and also three infant siblings. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage with burial to follow in the Old Carthage Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until time of services at the funeral home.  Printy Funeral Home of Carthage is in charge of arrangements.
