Joan D. Comstock

Joan D. Comstock, 87, of Carthage, passed away Saturday evening, April 13, 2019, at St. Francis Hospital in Peoria.

Joan was born February 22, 1932, in Basco, Illinois the daughter of Elmer and Hazel (Clampitt) Bavery.  She attended Warsaw High School graduating in 1949.  She was united in marriage to Robert Huls and Wendell Comstock.  They both preceded her in death.  Joan had worked for First State Bank, formerly First National Bank for over 20 years retiring in 1992.  She was a member of the Basco Methodist Church.

Joan is survived by her son, Marc Huls of Carthage; four grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Robert and Wendell; two sons, Dennis and Max Huls; a brother, Paul Bavery; and 4 sisters, Virginia Knoche, Fern Bentall, Alma Dees and Ruth Bavery.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, April 18, 2019, at Woodlawn Cemetery in Augusta.  Memorials may be made to H.U.G.S.  Printy Funeral Home of Carthage is in charge of arrangements.
