Naomi R. Hendrickson, 96, of Hamilton, formerly of Bowen, passed away at 2:03 P.M. Thursday, February 7, 2019 at the Montebello Care Center in Hamilton.
Naomi was born January 30, 1923, the daughter of John F. and Sadie (Bertschi) Hamman on the family farm in Appanoose Township, Hancock County, Illinois. She attended Nauvoo High School graduating in 1940. She then worked at Schaeffer Pen in Fort Madison until her marriage to Kenneth L. Hendrickson in Peoria in 1948. He preceded her in death in 1985. Naomi was a 50 year member of the Grace Chapter #67 Order of the Eastern Star. She was an excellent bowler and bowled for the Super Value team for many years. She enjoyed going to flea markets with her husband and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
Naomi is survived by her son, Richard (Vicki) Hendrickson of Carthage; granddaughter, Nicole (Chris) Gallatly; grandson, Johnathan (Nicole) Hendrickson; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Curtis J., Millard C., Harvey H., Ira W., Leland “Pete” R. and Waldo E. Hamman; four sisters, Dorothy Bolte, Ann, Margaret B. and Irene L. Hamman; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage. Burial will be in Scott Cemetery near Plymouth, Illinois. The family will meet friends from 10:00 A.M. until times of services at 11:00 on Wednesday. A memorial fund has been established. Printy Funeral Home of Carthage is in charge of arrangements.
