Randy R. Hudson

Randy Ray Hudson, 65, of Loraine, Illinois, passed away peacefully at his home in Loraine.

 Randy was born April 20, 1953, the son of William and Jo Ann (Lierly) Hudson in Glenview, Illinois.  He attended Carthage High School graduating in 1971.  He then attended welding school in the Chicago area.  He worked at Hollister Whitney Elevator Company in Quincy for over 35 years as a welder.  Randy was a man among men.  He was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener.  He was a fan of blues music, western movies and kitchen table conversation.  He enjoyed working with his Kabota tractor around his property and kept all his equipment and vehicles meticulously.  He had also served on the Loraine Village Board.  He was a long- time member of the NRA. He will be greatly missed by many.

 Randy is survived by his son, Wesley Hudson of Golden; a sister, Janet Newell of Chicago; a beloved niece, Jocelyn Hays of Chicago; his companion, Debra Wittler of Loraine; his uncle, Danny (Vivian) Hudson of Carthage; his cats, Pippa and Charles; and many cousins, aunts and dear friends. 

 He was preceded in death by his father, William Hudson; mother, Jo Ann Newell; step-father, Waldo “Butch” Newell; and his grandparents.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday afternoon, December 21, 2018, at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage with burial to follow in the West Point Cemetery in West Point, Illinois.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. Thursday evening at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage.  Memorials may be directed to the American Red Cross. Printy Funeral Home of Carthage is in charge of arrangements.
