Stephanie Lynn Walker Akers, 35, of Dallas, Texas, formerly of Keokuk and Carthage, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2018, in Houston, Texas at 2:20 P.M.
Stephanie was born August 8, 1982, in Clinton, Oklahoma, the daughter of Jimmy Lee and Bonnie K. (King) Walker. On May 10, 2001, she was united in marriage to John Edward Akers. He survives. Stephanie was loved by everyone. She enjoyed writing poems and singing. She once received awards in a singing contest. She especially loved mushroom hunting with her dad and grandfather, Lyle Walker. She also loved cookouts with her family.
Stephanie is survived by her husband, John Akers of Alaska; three children, Madison, Jon and Mya Akers, all of Alaska; father and step-mother, Jimmy Lee (Vickie) Walker of Amana, Iowa; four step-children; a sister, Cathy Gilpin; step-brother, Dustin Walker; half-sister, Trinity Roberts; grandmother, Della Walker of Carthage; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday afternoon, June 9, 2018, at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage with burial to follow in Moss Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00 until time of services at 2:00 at the funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to the family of Stephanie Lynn Walker. Printy Funeral Home of Carthage is in charge of arrangements.
