William “Keith” Twaddle, 93, of Carthage, IL passed away at the Montebello Care Center in Hamilton, IL on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 2:55 p.m.

Keith was born April 28, 1925 in Plymouth, IL the son of Ocie Rellie and Elizabeth Annette “Etta” (McCutchan) Twaddle. He graduated Plymouth High School in 1943. He was on the high school basketball team and played the French Horn in the school band. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII from 1944 until his Honorable Discharge in 1946. On September 14, 1952, he was united in marriage to Mary Katherine Chockley in Colchester, IL. Keith farmed from 1946 to 1955 in Plymouth. He then received his accounting degree from Gem City Business College in Quincy, IL and served as an accountant for the Western Illinois Electric Coop in Carthage, IL from June 30, 1957 until his retirement on April 30, 1991. He served many of those years as the Office Manager. Keith loved his family and enjoyed bowling, golf, and playing cards. He was also an avid gardener. Keith was a member of the Plymouth American Legion and the United Methodist Church in Carthage.

Keith is survived by his wife Mary Katherine Twaddle of Carthage, IL; seven children, Paul Twaddle of Newton, IA; Don (Denise) Twaddle of Washington, IL; Annette (Darrel) Harl of Colusa, IL; Gary (Terri) Twaddle of Carthage, IL; Mike (Theresa) Twaddle of Carthage, IL; Mark (Debbie) Twaddle of Lisle, IL; and Julie (Dave) Kaplan of Raleigh, NC; 21 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; one sister, Lois Flesner of Payson, IL and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Robert and Lowell; and his sister, Ruth.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage, IL with burial to follow at the Moss Ridge Cemetery in Carthage, IL. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 11 at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage, IL with family meeting friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the United Methodist Church in Carthage, IL, the Carthage Golf Course, or the American Legion in Plymouth.
