George Kleinert Obituary George R. Kleinert, 70, of Keokuk, died at 1:50 AM, Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington, Iowa
Mr. Kleinert was born February 24, 1937, in Alexandria, Missouri, the son of Walter E. and Elizabeth J. Woods Kleinert. He married Genevieve Varner in March 8, 1963, in Quincy, Illinois. She preceded him in death on October 28, 2001. He was employed by Sheller Globe as a production worker for 35 years. He was in the Air Force as an Airman 2nd Class. He was a member of the Alexandria Baptist Church in Alexandria, Missouri. He was a "River Man"; the river was his hobby and he had also been a commercial fisherman.
He is survived by a stepdaughter, Cindy S. Colwell and her husband, Jerry, of Alexandria, Missouri; two stepsons, David L. Hoyt of Keokuk, Iowa; John "Mark" Hoyt and his wife, Linda, of Keokuk, Iowa; stepdaughter-in-law, Joyce Hoyt of Kahoka, Missouri; grandson, Clint R. Hoyt of Keokuk who was raised by George & Genevieve.
sister, Joan Peters and her husband, Harold, of Alexandria, Missouri; brother, John Kleinert and his wife, Rhonda, of Revere, Missouri
eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren and
nine great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two stepsons, Vernon and William Hoyt; and a granddaughter, Diana Hoyt.
Graveside services were Thursday, July 12, 2007 at Sunset Memorial Park with Brother Bill Houser officiating.
