Iris Kimball Obituary Iris Mae Kimball, 84, of Keokuk, died at 1:35 PM, Saturday, June 7, 2008, at Keokuk Area Hospital.
Mrs. Kimball was born August 12, 1923, in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Ira and Mae Jemison Shaw. She graduated from Keokuk High School in June, 1941. During World War II, she moved to Riverside, California, and worked at March Air Field. After the war, she returned to Keokuk and married Floyd Henson. She married Edward A. Kimball at Plymouth Congregational Church in Des Moines, Iowa, on May 11, 1957.
She was the Board Secretary for Keokuk Community Schools for several years. She was a member of both Questers and Keokuk Business and Professional Women for many years. She enjoyed her children and playing cards. She was a good seamstress and made many of her clothes.
She is survived by her husband, Edward A. Kimball of Keokuk; a daughter, Paula Shaul of Keokuk; two grandchildren, Brian Bode and Melissa Bode; six great grandchildren, Logan and Jayme Bode, Bailey and Kerrigan Bode, and Brett and Cameron Bode; a sister, Lela Atterberg Liegerot of Keokuk; four nephews, Jack Atterberg, Mark Atterberg, Tracy Atterberg and
Dennis Atterberg.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial services were Tuesday, June 10, 2008, at DeJong's Funeral Home with Rev. William S. Mitchell officiating. Inurnment followed at Keokuk National Cemetery.
