Jean Nickel Obituary Jean Ann Nickel, 63, of Keokuk, died at 11:09 PM Saturday, September 2, 2006, at Keokuk Area Hospital.
Mrs. Nickel was born February 8, 1943, in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of James Leroy "Roy" and Margie Perkins Sale. She married Robert Leroy "Nick" Nickel on October 19, 1963. He preceded her in death on October 4, 1982.
She was a lifelong resident of Keokuk. She was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse by Keokuk Area Hospital and then ResCare until illness caused her retirement. She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church. She enjoyed fishing.
She is survived by two sons, Jon Nickel and Glen Nickel of Keokuk; one grandson, Brian Nickel of Keokuk; two brothers, James Sale and his wife, Becky, of Keokuk and Bill Carr and his wife, Sharilyn, of Keokuk; and other relatives.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother, Louise Sale; and a brother, Robert Carr.

A memorial service was held at 10:00 AM Thursday, September 7, 2006, at DeJong's Funeral Home in Keokuk with Rev. William Olmsted officiating.
