Patricia Gates Obituary Patricia Ann "Patsy" Gates, 66, of Keokuk, died Wednesday, November 13, 2013, at Keokuk Area Hospital. She was born on June 2, 1947, in Keokuk, Iowa, to Patrick and Marjorie Bartholomew Donahue. She married Edward Gates on May 8, 1965, and he preceded her in death on November 9, 2003. Patricia was a life-long resident of Keokuk, Iowa, and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She was an active member of P.E.O., Chapter IG, and enjoyed scrapbooking, reading and crafting. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandsons. Patricia is survived by one daughter, Marjorie (Shaun) Lane, of North Liberty, Iowa; two grandsons, Heath and Nicholas Lane; one brother, Robert Donahue of Alabama; and two sisters: Bonnie (Jerry) Randall of Louisiana and Claudia (Paul) Trauschke of Florida. Other surviving relatives include her three brothers-in-law: Ronald "Duckie" (Diane) Gates of Alexandria, Dennis (Chris) Gates of Keokuk, Gerald "Gus" (Frankie) of Wisconsin; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brother, Jody Freeman; and her infant son, Robert Edward. The visitation will be held Friday, November 15, 2013, from 3 to 8 PM, with the family meeting friends from 6 to 8 PM, at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center at 917 Blondeau Street, with a P.E.O. Memorial Service at 8 PM. The celebration of life will be held Saturday, November 16, 2013, at 11 AM at Trinity United Methodist Church in Keokuk, Iowa. Memorials may be made to the P.E.O.
