Rich Hopkins Obituary RICH HOPKINS August 5, 1971 - May 24, 2016 Arlyn Richard Hopkins Jr., 44, of Hamilton Illinois, passed away Tuesday May 24th, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. Rich was born August 5th, 1971 in Ft. Madison Iowa, the loving son of Arlyn and Bobbie Hopkins. The protective brother to Heidi Hopkins and Travis Hopkins. The proud father of Desiree, Tyler, Brook and Jude Hopkins. The doting grandfather of Kylee, Ava and Landon. Rich was a BEAST on the football field, the Blueboy that proudly wore #64 and left his opponents dazed and confused. He graduated with the wild class of 1989 from Carthage High School. As rough and tough as he was in his younger years, he settled into fatherhood and enjoyed his days watching his children and grandchildren grow. His passion was in music and in the mountains of Colorado. Unfortunately he didnt live there when "it" was legal! Survivors include his parents Arlyn and Bobbie Hopkins, Hamilton IL. His children Desiree Hopkins (John Newbill) Keokuk IA, Tyler Hopkins (Kelsey Lay) Columbia MO., Brooklynn Cook and Jude Hopkins, Carthage IL. Grandkids Kylee and Ava Newbill, Keokuk IA and Landon Cook, Carthage IL; his sister, Heidi (Jason Zenk) Hopkins of Hamilton; and a brother, Travis (Anna) Hopkins of Fulton, Missouri. Also many, many, many cousins, aunts, uncles and friends because he had a HUGE loving family!! Preceded in death by his grandparents Elder Vernon and Betty Hopkins, Melvin and Darlene Faulkner and his special companion and ever loyal dog, Lola. By his special request, his ashes will be spread across the beautiful mountains of Colorado.
