Alice Donahue Obituary Alice Branson Donahue, 100, of Keokuk, passed away at her home with her family present on Saturday, October 13, 2012. Alice was born September 1, 1912, in Summitville, Iowa, a daughter of Robert C. and Hattie E. Clemmons Branson. She married Edward M. Donahue in 1936 at Keokuk, Iowa. He preceded her in death in 1989. She graduated from Keokuk Senior High School and lived most of her life in the Summitville and Keokuk area. She was employed for many years as a secretary for Hubinger Company, retiring in 1973. She was a member of the former St. Andrews Episcopal Church at Mooar, Iowa. Alice is survived by three children, Mary Jo Hendrickson, Tom Donahue and his wife Kathy, and Jack Donahue, all of Keokuk; six grandchildren and seven step grandchildren; several great grandchildren and step great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two half-brothers and two half-sisters; four brothers and two sisters, one great grandson and one step-grandson. Cremation will take place and at a later date she will be inurned in Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk. The family will meet with friends 6:00 to 8:00 Tuesday, October 16, 2012, at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center at 1212 Concert Street in Keokuk The family suggests memorials to Hickory Grove Cemetery Association or to Keokuk Catholic Schools.
