Ben Hardy Obituary Thomas Benjamin "Ben" Hardy, 47, of Hamilton, passed away at 4:58 AM, Saturday, January 18, 2025, at his home. Ben was born March 16, 1977, the son of Donald Dean and Anna (Harker) Hardy in Keokuk, Iowa. He attended Hamilton High School graduating in 1995 and then went on to get his associate degree at Vatterott College in Quincy. He had worked for Grays Quarry in Hamilton and had also worked as an electrician and machinist. Ben was an avid outdoorsman, learning to hunt and fish at an early age. One of his greatest joys came from smoking and barbecuing meats for family, friends and local events. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Keokuk. Ben is survived by his wife, Laura, of Hamilton; his daughter, Harker Grace Hardy; two stepchildren, K.J. Gwartney and Kyra Brandon; his mother Anna Hardy of Hamilton; and three siblings, David (JoAnn) Hardy of Ozark, MO, Anthony Shane (Becky) Hardy of Wyoming, IL and Tina Hayes of Coffeeville KS. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; father, Don Hardy; and mother-in-law, Mary Rees. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Calvary Baptist Church in Keokuk with burial to follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton. Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 7:00 PM Friday night at Printy Funeral Home in Hamilton with family meeting friends from 5:00 7:00 PM. Memorials may be directed to Calvary Baptist Church in Keokuk for the Childrens Ministry/Kings Kids club. Printy Funeral Home of Hamilton is in charge of arrangements.
