Betty Smith Obituary Betty Lou Smith, 88, of Carthage passed away at 9:21 A.M. Thursday morning, December 14, 2017 at the Montebello Health Care Center in Hamilton Betty was born in Webster, Illinois the daughter of Frank and Ollie (Barrett) Hasten on January 16, 1929. On November 25, 1946 in Carthage, Illinois she was united in marriage to Clyde Junior Smith. Clyde passed away in 1995. Betty lived in and around Webster most of her life and was a homemaker. She had been a member of Webster Community Church and enjoyed gardening, fishing, and flowers. Betty is survived by her children, Dennis (Jackie) Smith of Northeast, PA, Kathy (Mike) Peters of Carthage, Mary (Kent) Ussery of Colchester, IL, Gary Smith of Dallas City, Terry Smith of Blandinsville, Hollie (Steve) Wilhelm of Dallas City, IL, Goldie Yarbrough (Bill Watkins) of Webster, IL and Brenda (Keith) Bruns of Basco; 21 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clyde; a son, Ronnie Smith; a granddaughter, Kimberly Smith; a great grandson, Louie Wilhelm; and seven siblings. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at the Webster Cemetery in Webster. Visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M.
