Bonnie Bentzinger Obituary Bonnie Bentzinger, 75, of Carthage, passed away at the Timber Point Care Center in Camp Point, Illinois, on Saturday, April 19, 2025.
"Lets clear the floor please"
Bonnie was born on February 25, 1950, the daughter of John and Millie (Elting) Scott in Keokuk, Iowa. She attended Carthage High School, graduating in 1968 and then went on to attend Gem City College in Quincy. On June 8, 1969, she was united in marriage to Michael Bentzinger, and they were married 44 years. Bonnie worked her entire life at the Crystal Ball Roller Rink, which her parents built in 1946. She owned and operated the rink from 2001 until its closing in 2016. Bonnie was an iconic figure at the Carthage landmark business that had provided entertainment to the area for thousands of people over eight decades. She positively touched the lives of many, as a mother and friend to all kids that entered the doors of the rink. Bonnie later worked for County Market in Carthage and finished her career once again in the entertainment industry working at the Legacy Theatre in Carthage. Bonnie had been a member of the Red Hats in Carthage and was a 10-year cancer survivor. She was our crafter, seamstress and wonderful cook - no one ever went hungry. Bonnie was always ready to go on an adventure. She didnt care where. Being our Mom, our Nana, our Bon Bon is what made her heart happy and full.
