Calvin Snyder Obituary Calvin Wayne Snyder began the next adventure of his life on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Memorial Hospital in Carthage, IL, surrounded by his loving family. Although we will miss him terribly, we are thankful for the time we were able to spend with him before he moved on.
Calvin was born on August 3, 1957, at Carthage Memorial Hospital to Floy and Lucille (Bollin) Snyder and welcomed by his siblings Marlene, Donald, and Robert. He spent his early life on the family farm outside of Carthage. He graduated from Carthage High School in 1976. On January12, 1979, he was united in marriage to Brenda Sue Russell. Calvin worked much of his life in construction, starting in high school at KD Construction and then at the Bentley Lumber Yard. He was employed for many years at Alexander Lumber in Carthage, first as a truck driver and eventually as manager. He was known to many people for his willingness to help others when needed.
Calvin is survived by his wife Brenda; his daughters, Shannon (Daniel) Cary, Kayla Snyder, and Shaina Snyder Kroeger; his uncle, Jim Snyder; his aunts, Wilma, and Liz Snyder; his in- laws, Cinda Snyder, Bonnie Larkins, Jim (Terry) Russell, Sandra (Frank) Cummings, Ralph Russell, Vickie Russell, and many nieces and nephews. He was a beloved Papa to Maverick, Emmett, Zeke, Adrianna, Ashayla, Cameron, Chase, Trisha, Jaxon, Tessa, and two special nephews, Conner and Grayson. Calvin was preceded in death by his parents, Floy and Lucille, siblings, Marlene, Donald, and Robert, stepchildren, Jeremy and Tory Fink, grand-son, Kairyn Young, father and mother-in-law,
James and Irma Russell, brothers-in-law, Dave Hale and Bill Larkins, and sister-in-law, Lori Benedict.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Printy Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
