Carlene Scheuermann Obituary Carlene Scheuermann, 87, of Webster, passed away at her youngest daughters home in Ferris Saturday morning, April 5, 2025, at 7:27 AM. Carlene was born on September 15, 1937, the daughter of Fred and Alma (Martin) Shipman in Hungry Hill near LaCrosse, Illinois. She attended LaHarpe High School graduating in 1955. On April 30, 1956, she was united in marriage to Wilbur Scheuermann in Las Cruces, NM. He preceded her in death in 2015. Carlene had worked as a telephone operator in Carthage, and later Macomb, for twenty-six years. She then served as the office manager and insurance agent for State Farm Insurance for ten years. She was a longtime member of the Webster Community Church, serving as Sunday School superintendent for fifty years, worship leader with the Q chord for seventeen years and church secretary for several years. Carlene was an excellent softball player and was a member of the Fountain Green Clipperettes for seven years. She had also served on the Hancock County election board since the 1970s. Carlene was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Carlene is survived by her daughters, Deb Scheuermann of Nampa, ID and Janis (Tom) Howard of Ferris; grandchildren, Chris and Jen Howard; siblings, Chuck (Ruth) Shipman of Rocky Ford, CO, Darrell (Jo) Shipman of Abilene, TX, Bill Shipman and Duane (Joan) Shipman, both of Webster; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilbur; twin sons, Jerold and Gerald; a brother, Gene Shipman and two sisters, Viola Henson and Elaine Shipman. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage with burial to follow in the Webster Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00 7:00 PM Friday evening at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage with family meeting friends from 5:00 7:00 PM. Memorials may be directed to MDH Hospice in Macomb. Printy Funeral Home in Carthage is in charge of arrangements.
