Denise Howell Obituary Denise Michelle Howell, 49, of Keokuk, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2024, at her home in Keokuk. Denise was born on June 11, 1974, in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Dennis "Mike" and Nancy (Deck) Jones. Denise was of the Christian faith and loved to read her Bible. She was employed at restaurants throughout her working career and loved the people she served. Denise was characterized by her love of God and people, especially her family. She was a beautiful person inside and out, and "if she had it, you had it". She was always giving to others and would always lend a helping hand when needed. Denise was extremely loyal to her people and always spoke her mind. In her free time, she enjoyed watching television, especially Friends. Denise is survived by her mother Nancy Jones of Forest City, North Carolina; fianc Chris Tallman of Keokuk; six children: Kenneth Howell, Kolten (Fianc Riki) Howell of Hamilton, Keaten Howell of Keokuk, Keagen Howell of Keokuk, Katelyn Howell of Keokuk, and Karlie Howell of Keokuk; five grandchildren: Kayne, Kanan and Krey, and Koraline Howell, and Daniel Wrieden; five siblings: Glen and Michael Overhulser of Forest City, North Carolina, Dianna (Tom) Moore of Forest City, Dave (Brandi) Clark of Green Valley, North Carolina, and Christian Jones; her special nephew Luke (Shawna) Murphy; her beloved dog Simon and Tippy the Turtle; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Denise is preceded by her father Dennis "Mike" Jones, her grandparents, her granddaughter Kimberly Howell, and her great-niece Jordyn Murphy. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, April 15, 2024, at DeJong-Greaves-Printy Funeral Home in Keokuk, with burial to follow at Frazee Cemetery in Clark County, Missouri. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2 to 5 pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the funeral home for family expenses.
