Donald Ray Rhodes, 78, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away on May 21, 2026, at Rehabilitation and Nursing Center of the Rockies in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Donald was born on February 10, 1948, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the son of Harold and Susie (Westball) Rhodes. On November 29, 1969, he was united in marriage to Janet Ette at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Keokuk, Iowa. Donald went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Air Force, serving during Vietnam. He was stationed at F.E. Warren Air Force Base for many years and attended leadership and military schools, receiving his bachelor's degree. He retired from the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged. He was also a member of the Brothers of Vietnam in Cheyenne. Donald enjoyed spending his free time riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycles and driving his 1974 Chevrolet Corvette and even joined his local Corvette club. He also enjoyed listening to the Beach Boys, collecting vintage guns, traveling with his wife Janet and cheering on the Chicago Bears.

Donald is survived by his wife Janet Rhodes of Cheyenne, Wyoming; and many nieces and nephews.

Donald is preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws Joseph, Sr. and Margaret Ette; and his Grandmother Rhodes and grandmother Maggie Westball.

Visitation will be held from 12 pm (Noon) to 1 pm on Monday, June 8, 2026, at DeJong-Printy Funeral Home in Keokuk, Iowa. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 1:30 pm on Monday, June 8, 2026, at Keokuk National Cemetery in Keokuk, Iowa. Military honors will be rendered by the United States Air Force and the American Legion Post #41. A funeral procession from the funeral home to the cemetery will be held following visitation.
