Dorothy Kay Obituary Dorothy A. Kay, 89, of Keokuk, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at Aspire of Donnellson Nursing Home in Donnellson, Iowa. Dorothy was born on May 17, 1933, in Elvaston, Illinois, the daughter of Matt and Minny (Dooley) Hastings. She was united in marriage to Billie L. Kay, Sr. on September 29, 1950, in Keokuk. He preceded her in death on November 15, 1999. Dorothy was employed at Keokuk Middle School in the cafeteria for twenty-eight years. She was of the Catholic faith. Dorothy is survived by three children: Billie L. Kay, Jr., Randy R. Kay and Jim (Sherry) Kay, all of Keokuk; three brothers: Don (Sandy) Hastings of Jefferson City, Missouri, Larry (Carol) Hastings of Bowen, Illinois, and Charlie (Tina) Hastings of East Moline, Illinois; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Billie, and several brothers and sisters. According to her wishes, no services will be held. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimers Association.
