Douglas 'Doug' Atterberg Obituary Douglas "Doug" Keith Atterberg, 78, of Keokuk, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at Arbor Court in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. Doug was born on February 7, 1945, in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of Keith and Gracia Lou (Arnold) Atterberg. On May 8, 1982, he was united in marriage to Ann Katherine Stiens at Sacred Heart Church in Warsaw. She preceded him in death on August 29, 2015. Doug attended Grinnell College for four years, earning his Bachelors Degree before transferring to the University of Iowa to complete his Masters in Business Administration. He was enrolled in ROTC at Grinnell College and served in the United State Air Force, where he was promoted to Captain and toured the world creating inventory programs for the Quartermasters. He was honorably discharged. Doug is survived by his brother Frederick "Rick" Conradt (Cathryn) Atterberg of Keokuk; his nephew Frederick Conradt (Wendy) Atterberg, Jr. of Keokuk; and several other family members. A private burial will be held at Hickory Grove Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Keokuk Humane Society.
