Obituary

Gary Edward Tripp, 72, of Warsaw, passed away at 10:58 AM, Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.

Gary was born May 25, 1953, in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of Willard and Mary (Connors) Tripp. He graduated from Warsaw High School and then went on to serve in the U. S. Air Force Military Police from 1972 until his Honorable Discharge in 1979. On June 26, 1972, he was united in marriage to Kathy Durham in Kahoka, Missouri. She survives. Gary enjoyed his police work in his military service and went on to work as a sergeant in the security detail at the Iowa Ammunition Plant until his retirement. He had a great knowledge of firearms and knives and enjoyed fishing and mushrooming.

Gary is survived by his wife, Kathy of Warsaw; sons, Gabriel (Sabrina) Durham of Keokuk, Christopher Tripp of Omaha, and Joshua (Dawn) Tripp of Colfax, Iowa; grandchildren, Nathan and Chloe Durham,Hannah Trip, and Kaitlin and Tristan Tripp and Logan Tripp; step-grandchildren, Kallie (Anthony) Chia, Amanda Roper, Alan "A.J." Smith and Megan (Noah) Rush; six great grandchildren; siblings, Laverne Tripp, Mary Ann (Roger) Tondini of Warsaw, Rocky (Leslie) Tripp of Kentucky Dale Tripp (Jane)of Warsaw and Johnny Tripp; sister-in-law, Debbie Shaffer; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Robert and Mark Tripp.

A memorial service will be held at 12:30 PM Friday, October 17, 2025, at Printy Funeral Home in Warsaw with burial to follow in the Keokuk National Cemetery with military rites rendered by the U.S. Air Force and Hancock County Honor Guard. Family will meet friends from 10:30 AM until time of services at 12:30 PM at Printy Funeral Home in Warsaw. Memorials may be directed to the family of Gary E. Tripp. Printy Funeral Home of Warsaw is in charge of arrangements.
