George Sackman, Jr. Obituary George "Buddy" Sackman, Jr. of Keokuk, Iowa, passed away at Thursday, March 31, 2022, at home. George was born December 5, 1938, in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of George and LaVera (Collier) Sackman, Sr. On November 27, 1965, he was united in marriage to Joyce Marie (Gilpin) Sackman. She preceded him in death March 6, 2022. He serviced in the U.S. Army in his younger years receiving his Honorable Discharge in 1962. George worked many years at Sheller-Globe where he retired from. In his spare time he enjoyed golfing, fishing, mushroom hunting, hunting and spending time with his family and friends. George is survived by three children, Janet (John) Pearl, George (Manny) Sackman III, Loretta (Vernon) McKay; two sisters, Judy Muegge and Julia Mayes; grandchildren, Wesley (Christina) Pearl, Crystal Pearl, Jessica (Josh) Crenshaw, Shilah Kiger, Lauren (Lance) Buckert, Brant Sackman, Tyler Sackman, Steven McKay, William (Cassie) McKay and Justin McKay; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife; two sisters, one great grandchild; and several other family members.
