Helen Howard Obituary Helen Marie Howard, 100, of Keokuk, Iowa died Friday, March 30, 2018 at Great River Hospice House in Burlington, IA. Helen was born in Keokuk, IA on February 16, 1918, the daughter of Leo Vernon and Rose Elizabeth Dalton Bryant. She married Floyd Merle Howard on January 5, 1935 in Kahoka, MO. He preceded her in death on July 15, 1980. Helen was a lifelong resident of Keokuk, IA. She worked for Sheller Globe for thirty plus years. She was a member of the Local 444 (United Rubber Cork and Linoleum Local 444) Helen is survived by her four grandchildren: Floyd (Debbie) Mason of Noblesville, IN, Caroline (Fred Ochsner) Mason of Keokuk, IA, Kathryn (Rod) Sparrow of West Point, IL and Charles Mason of Quincy, IL; eight great grandchildren; two great step grandchildren; fourteen great great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren, two great great great step-grandchildren, and nieces, nephews and cousins. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her children Mary Mason, Floyd Howard and Rose Howard, five brothers and four sisters and a son in-law Robert Mason. A Celebration of her Life will be at 10:30 AM, Saturday, April 7, 2018, at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center at 917 Blondeau Street in Keokuk with Pastor Clegguart Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery, Keokuk, IA. Visitation will be held at the 917 Blondeau Street at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM, directly before the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Great River Hospice House.
