Howard Bowden Obituary Howard Ernest Bowden, 66, of Keokuk, passed away at 6:45 PM on December 2, 2016, at Keokuk Area Hospital. Howard was born in Keokuk on February 6, 1950, the son of John Edwin and Doris Blanche Miller Bowden. On July 3, 1970, he was united in marriage to Patricia Lampley in Keokuk. She survives. A life-long resident of Keokuk, Howard was employed at Keokuk Steel Castings for over twenty-six years, and was a member of American Legion Post #41. Howard proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Howard is survived by his wife Patricia of Keokuk, his daughter Melissa A. (Joe) McFarland of Wisconsin, his son Brad M. Bowden of Keokuk, his brother James Bowden, his grandson Jake (Marissa Lanna) McFarland, and three great-grandchildren. Howard is preceded in death by his parents, his brother John Bowden, and three grandchildren: Jessica McFarland, and Robert and Rebecca Cooper. A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at 11 AM at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Centers at 917 Blondeau Street, with Pastor Justin Garein officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 AM directly before the service. Memorials may be made to American Legion Post #41 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
