James Shea Obituary James A. Shea, 83, of Keokuk, Iowa, died at 10:16 AM, Monday, July 16, 2007 at Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, Iowa.
Mr. Shea was born August 8, 1923 in Kahoka, Missouri the son of James H. and Mary Florence O'Day Shea. He married Dorothy C. Atterberg on May 6, 1950 in Ft. Madison, Iowa. She preceded him in death on March 26, 2007.
He lived in Keokuk, Iowa for fifty-three years. He retired from Ogilvie Mills as a supervisor after 22 years of service. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He was of theCatholic Faith.
He is survived by a daughter, Carolyn A. Noon of West Burlington, Iowa; four grandchildren, Jason Rockhold and his wife Penny of Hamilton, Illinois, Amy Noon, Erin Noon and Sarah Noon of West Burlington, Iowa; three great grandchildren, Ty Rockhold, Breanna Boone and Greg Boone; a nephew, James Toole of Keokuk; two nieces, Mary Ellen Scwag of Bellevue, Washington and Ruth Ann Brown of St. Petersburg, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Dorothy Shea; a sister; and his grandparents.
A private Memorial service is planned at a later date with burial and full military rites at Keokuk National Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
