Janice Fink, 79, of Carthage, passed away at 2:52 PM Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.
Janice was born September 24, 1946, the daughter of Walter "Pete" and Marjorie (Jackson) Sargent in Quincy, Illinois. She attended Carthage High School and then went on to graduate from the Burlington Business School and Carl Sandburg College of Business of DuPage. On September 3, 1965, Janice was united in marriage to her lifelong sweetheart at 18 years old and enjoyed 60 beautiful years of marriage. She worked at all levels of education as a secretary from elementary school to college. She later went on to serve as the social services director for the Roseville nursing home and retired from the LaHarpe-Davier Care Center as their administrator in 2013. Janice was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church and a member of the prayer team. She was also a devoted Memorial Hospital volunteer.
Janice is survived by her husband, Charles, of Carthage; two sons, Jeff (Lori) Fink and Steve (Erin) Fink, both of Carthage; grandchildren, Caitlyn (Josh) Parker, Zayne (Bri) Fink, Jessica (Ryan) Biddenstadt, Jensen Fink, Evan Fink, Elliana Fink and Robinson Fink; great grandchildren, Henry and Charlotte Parker and Jennings, Carston, Quynn and Vanna Fink; siblings, Donna Fry, Donnie Sargent and Rhonda Sargent; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Jerry Sargent.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, October 23rd, 2025, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church near Basco with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Wednesday evening at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage. Memorials may be directed to Food for Thoughts (Food for Thoughts is a 501(c)(3) providing weekend food packs to students in Hancock County). Printy Funeral Home of Carthage is in charge of arrangements.
