Jeanne Davis Obituary Jeanne Marie Davis, 68, of Keokuk, was called home by Jesus on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington, Iowa. Jeanne was born on July 22, 1956, in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Loyd and Frances (Steel) Taylor. She graduated from Keokuk High School in 1974, and went on to receive her associates degree as an administrative assistant from Southeastern Community College. On October 6, 1979, she was united in marriage to her husband of forty-five years Donald D. Davis, Jr., at First Baptist Church in Keokuk. He survives. Jeanne started her working career employed by several lawyers, later working for the 8th Judicial Department of Correctional Services for twenty-seven years, retiring in 2018. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Keokuk, where she taught Sunday School and held many positions. She enjoyed bowling and her card club, spending forty years with the same group. Most of all, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren and their events. Jeanne will always be remembered for her willingness to help whenever she could. Jeanne is survived by her husband Donald "Don" Davis, Jr., of Keokuk; her daughter Katie (James) Bierwirth of Keokuk; her son Donnie (Tiann) Davis, III of Keokuk; four grandchildren: Blake Davis and Evan, Eli and Elyse Bierwirth; her brother John (Jeanne) Taylor of Hamilton; two sisters: Carol (Billy Joe) Ryland of Keokuk and Merry (Joe) Powers of Fort Madison; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at First Baptist Church in Keokuk, with burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 10 to 11:30 am directly before the service. Memorials may be directed to First Baptist Church in Keokuk for their food pantry and youth programs.
