John Watkins Obituary John Henry Watkins, 63, of Basco, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at Memorial Hospital in Carthage, Illinois. John Henry Watkins was born on September 20, 1950, in St. Louis, Missouri to Helen J. Watkins and John Henry Dobey. His parents preceded him in death. He received his education at Kansas City Public School System. He then met and fell in love with Victoria Murphy, who he married and conceived a daughter Shina Watkins. Down through the years he conceived another daughter, India Alexander by Carla Alexander. John was a one-of-a-kind guy. A jack of all trades. One particular job was an attendant at the Heritage House in Carthage, Illinois working with the sick and disabled which he loved the most for 17 years. He touched many of the lives. He shall be remembered, loved, and cherished forever. He leaves to cherish his memories for his wife Victoria Watkins, daughter, Shina Watkins, his daughter, India Alexander, her mom Carla Alexander, three sisters; Terri Tandy, Patricia Watkins, and Sheila Boyd; a very special friend for whom he cherished for 17 years, Debbie Sue Brown, his beloved Dog, Baby Girl, a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and friends.
