Kathryn Alice "Kathy" Lantz, 71, of Colchester, IL, passed away early on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at her home in Colchester.

Kathy was born on May 17, 1955, in Quincy, IL, to Wilbur and Helen (McPherson) Boekhaus. She was a 1973 graduate of Southeastern High School in Augusta and then went on to receive her bachelor's and master's degrees from Western Illinois University. On June 22, 1985, she was united in marriage to David Lantz at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Bowen, IL. He survives.

Kathy retired in 2010 after 23 years of employment at Western Illinois University in Macomb and started working part-time as a secretary at the McDonough County Farm Bureau in 2011. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Bowen.

Kathy is survived by her husband, David Lantz of Colchester, IL; her brother, Ken (Labetta) Boekhaus of Villa Rica, GA; a niece, Megan (Evan) Daugherty and two nephews, Mike (Deb) Hufendick and Corbin (Melissa) Boekhaus; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Fredrick Boekhaus, a sister, Carol Hufendick, and a nephew, Mark Hufendick.

A funeral service will be held at 11am on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Bowen with burial to follow at Bowen Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the funeral starting at 10am. Memorials may be made out to St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Printy Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
