Kathy Turner Obituary Kathy L. Turner, 73, of Warsaw, passed away at 1:14 PM Sunday, July 21, 2024, at her home in Warsaw.
Kathy was born November 14, 1950 in Peoria, Illinois, the daughter of Lloyd Kenneth and Beverly Lucille (Wykoff) Despines. She graduated from four-room Trivola Grade School with a class of eight and went on to graduate from Farmington High School in 1968. She went to Spoon River college where she met her future husband, Mike, when they were both 17 years old. In 1969, Kathy graduated Liberty Beauty College. On May 14, 1972, she was united in marriage to Michael W. Turner at Trivoli Methodist Church in Trivoli, Illinois. Shortly after their wedding, the couple moved to Phoenix, AZ with her family where she graduated from Southwest Beauty School in Glendale. She later attended the Southeastern Community College Nursing Program in Keokuk IA, graduating with her LPN in 1992. She went on to enjoy a 20+ year nursing career. Kathy was an avid reader and gardener, as well as a talented artist and cook. Before retirement, she worked many years and made many friends at TLC in Keokuk where her co-workers enjoyed her hand drawn comics, cartoons, and calendars. Everyone called her "Mama Kathy" as she always had a smile on her face and kind words for anyone who needed them. Her family was the most important thing to Kathy. She always made sure everyones birthday was special and enjoyed spoiling her grandkids every Christmas.
Kathy is survived by her husband, Mike, of Warsaw; two daughters, Jennifer (Jason) Dodds and Janelle Wustrow of Warsaw; grandchildren, Jude Thompson, Alistar Wustrow, Cordealya Wustrow, Karma Wustrow and Ambrosia Wustrow; great grandson, Zephyr Lewis; sister Karen Despines of Phoenix, AZ; Uncle Mike Despines of Washington, IL; two dogs, Penny and Remus, and cat, Mario; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Printy Funeral Home in Hamilton. Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until time of services at 4:00 at the funeral home. There will be a celebration of life dinner to follow at the Hamilton Community Center. Memorials may be directed to the Warsaw Fire Department Rescue Fund or Warsaw Food Pantry. Printy Funeral Home of Hamilton is in charge of arrangements.
