Larry Johns Obituary Larry R. Johns, 63, of St. Paul, Minnesota, formerly of Keokuk, died peacefully at his home on September 19, 2011, following a two-year battle with cancer. Larry was born November 8, 1947, in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of Raymond and Rosalie Matticks Johns. Larry graduated from Keokuk High School in 1966 and received a Masters Degree from Illinois State University. He had been employed by Ahrold Fay Insurance Company of Des Moines, Iowa. He was the former clock operator for Concordia College women's basketball team and was a St. Louis Cardinals fan. Larry was a very kind and giving person. Larry is survived by a sister, Carole Riter and her husband Jack of Wayland, Missouri; a brother, Don Johns and his wife Susan of Keokuk; a niece, Misty Arrowood and her husband Tony and their children, Abby Halo, and Kain; nephew, Thad Riter; and numerous friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his grandparents, Albert and Katie Johns and Sylvia Gregory. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, October 3, 2001, at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center located at 917 Blondeau with Pastor Dan Deatrick officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 until 2:00 preceding the service. The family suggests memorials to American Cancer Society or to the donor's choice.
