Marjorie Pribyl Obituary Marjorie Ann Pribyl, 89, of Keokuk, IA, died early Friday, June 08, 2018 at Unity Point Health Care in Keokuk. Marjorie was born on July 1, 1928, in Keokuk, IA, the daughter of William and Maude Jones Hartley. She was united in marriage to Hubert George Pribyl on December 6, 1950, in Kahoka, MO. He preceded her in death on July 11, 2001. Marjorie was a lifelong resident of Keokuk. Together with her husband, Hugh, they started Pribyl's Jewelry at 622 Main in 1952. In 1959 they moved to 616 Main Street. In 1969 they bought Cahills Jewelry from Annie Cahill at 507 Main Street, and after a fire in 1985 rebuilt at the current address 511 Main Street and they changed the name to Cahill Pribyl Jewelry & Gifts. She retired in 1991. Marjorie spent years making candy at Christmas time and gave away basketsful at Christmas. She was famous for her secret family recipe of herb bread, giving away hundreds of loaves. She enjoyed many years of meeting friends for coffee and loved to read. Marjorie was very proud of her children and grandchildren. She was a member of The Church of All Saints, a former member of TTT and Keokuk Country Club. She is survived by two sons Steve Pribyl and Michael (Lisa) Pribyl both of Keokuk, IA; three grandchildren: Trent (Beth) Pribyl of Alexandria, MN, Kayla (Elliot) Brown of St. Louis, MO, and Amy Pribyl of Quincy, IL, two great grandchildren: Braden Pribyl and Josephine Brown; two nephews William and Alex Hartley. Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and one brother, Chester Hartley. Celebration of her Life will be at 11:00 AM, Thursday, June 14, 2018 at The Church of All Saints with Rev. Robert Lathrop officiating. Burial will follow at Keokuk National Cemetery. Visitation will be held before the funeral service, from 9 AM- 11 AM at The Church of All Saints. Memorials may be made to Keokuk Library Park.
