MarScine Cronin Obituary MarScine Cronin, 88, of Keokuk, died at 1:05 PM, Saturday, June 7, 2014, at Keokuk Area Hospital. She was a resident at River Hills Village in Keokuk. MarScine was born October 2, 1925 in Keokuk, to Chris and Emma Strohmaier Thompson. MarScine married Lester Burch in Keokuk. They later divorced. MarScine married John (Jack) Cronin of Keokuk in Santa Maria, California where they resided for many years. Keokuk was always "home" to her and after many years they returned to Keokuk to live. She enjoyed baking cookies (especially at Christmas), as well as knitting, cross-stitching, crossword puzzles, and keeping her diaries up to date. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Keokuk. MarScine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack, and her beloved sister Alberta Bramhall. She is survived by two sons, Steve (Cherie) Burch of Hudson, Florida and Chris (Darline) Burch of Worthington, Ohio; five grandchildren, Jeff, Tim, Brandon, Brian, and Jennifer; great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A Celebration of her Life will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Centers at 1212 Concert with Pastor Rodney Underwood officiating. Burial will follow in Keokuk National Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour Wednesday morning from 10:00 until the service at 11:-00. Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church of Keokuk.
