Mary Alice Arthur Obituary Mary Alice Arthur, 84, of Keokuk, passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington, Iowa. Mary Alice was born on May 10, 1940, in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of William and Edna (Snowden) Winn. She graduated from Keokuk in 1958, and on June 9, 1979, she was united in marriage to Gene Craig Arthur in Keokuk. He preceded her in death on December 18, 2016. Mary Alice was a nurses aide for many years until she went to work at Sheller-Globe, where she retired. She was a member of Anchor of Hope Church, the Moose Lodge, the Eagles Club, the Royal Neighbors and Steelworkers #444. She spent her time enjoying boat trips, Bingo, crossword puzzles, the price is right, and her trips with her sisters. Mary Alice loved birds, her cats and her dogs, but most of all, she loved her grandchildren. Mary Alice is survived by four children: Malia Whitt of Keokuk, Iowa; Jodie (Mark Turner) Turley of Keokuk, Iowa, Mark Turley of Keokuk, Iowa and Talia (Jack) Kay of Keokuk, Iowa; three step-children: Craig (Renne) Arthur, Terry (Mark) Miller and Tina (Myron) Weber; four grandchildren: David, LaTya, Rattan and special granddaughter Autumn; fifteen great-grandchildren; and five siblings: Barb Smeltser of Alexandria, Missouri, Carol Lovell of Keokuk, Sandy (Alan) Hall of Keokuk, Judy Winn of Keokuk, and Danny (Jennifer) Winn of Keokuk. Other survivors include many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mary Alice is preceded in death by her parents and four siblings: William "Bill" Winn, Lewis Edward Winn, Michael Winn, and her infant sister Kathleen Lynn Winn. Funeral services will be held at 12 pm (Noon) on Friday, April 4, 2025, at Anchor of Hope Church in Keokuk, with burial to follow at Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk. Visitation will be held on Friday from 11 am to 12 pm (Noon) at the church directly before services. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.
