Obituary

Mary Jo Hoskins, 61, of Warsaw, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at her home in rural Warsaw.

Mary was born on July 24, 1964, in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Veldon Gray, Sr. and Darlene (Curfman) Mondon. She graduated from Keokuk High School in 1983, and on August 2, 1986, she was united in marriage to Gary Hoskins at All Saints Catholic Church in Keokuk. He survives.

Mary was a housekeeper at Hancock County Senior Services and was of the Catholic faith. She enjoyed spending her time thrifting, shopping at flea markets, collecting cows and making wreaths for her family and friends. Most of all, she was all about her grandchildren and loved spending time with her husband Gary. She was a devoted wife, very proud of her girls and grandchildren and took pride in helping others. She was always giving and never asked for anything in return. Mary will be missed beyond words. The Lord has called her home to make her whole again.

Mary is survived by her husband Gary Hoskins of Warsaw; two daughters: Amanda (Reno) Steele of Warsaw and Heather (Mike) Mulholland of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; her mother Darlene Mondon of Keokuk; four grandchildren: Raith Steele, Gwendolyn Steele, Aiden Steele and Dax Mulholland; two brothers: Dean (Pamela) Gray of St. Patrick, Missouri, and Vernon Gray of Hamilton, Illinois; two sisters: Monica Smith of Keokuk and Tammy (Kevin) Turner of Hamilton; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mary is preceded in death by her father and two sisters: Charlene and Tina.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, February 2, 2026, at Printy Funeral Home in Warsaw, with burial to follow at Keokuk National Cemetery in Keokuk, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 1, from 2 to 4 pm at the funeral home.
