Patricia Handyside Obituary Patricia "Pat" Jean Handyside, 80, of Warsaw, formerly of Keokuk, died at 12:04 AM Monday, February 27, 2017, at North Adams County Home in Menden, Illinois.
Pat was born March 23, 1936, in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Charles William and Verna Ann Thoeny Danford. She was united in marriage to Dwight William Handyside on June 10, 1956, in Keokuk, Iowa. She had lived in the Keokuk area most of her life until moving to Warsaw in October, 1986. She had been employed by F.W. Woolworth.
She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Keokuk and was a member of the church clown group, the Women's Circle, the choir, and taught Sunday School. She was also a member of King's Daughters.
She is survived by her husband Dwight William Handyside of Warsaw; four children, John (Patty) Handyside of Hannibal, Missouri, Sally (Keith) Miller of Warsaw, Illinois, Thomas (Sheila) Handyside of Warsaw, and Ann (James) Pollock of Laddonia, Missouri; daughter-in-law Karen Handyside of Keokuk; fifteen grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister Kathleen (Brian) Herron of Muskegon, Michigan, and multiple nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and son Dan Handyside.
A memorial service will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, March 2, 2017, at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center at 917 Blondeau Street in Keokuk. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the service begins. Inurnment will be at a later date.
