Randall Van Hove Obituary Randall William Van Hove, 70, of Bowen, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, December 9th, 2023, at Memorial Hospital in Carthage. Randy was born in Keokuk, Iowa, on November 17, 1953, the son of Lloyd and Betty (Denning) Van Hove. He graduated from Carthage High School in 1971. On April 1st, 2015, Randy was united in marriage to Cathy (Shaffer) Van Hove in Bowen, Illinois. Randy spent most of his career driving a truck and he loved what he did. He spent 30 years driving for DOT Foods. He also worked for Hummer Trucking for some time. He was a member of Denver Lodge #464 A.F & A.M as well as a volunteer fireman in Bowen. Randy loved going to tractor pulls and his cub cadets. You could always find Randy hanging out with the guys at Brian Gaines Trucking. He also enjoyed going on side-by-side rides with his grandkids, his pet rabbits, and eating cream horns. Randy never met a stranger. Randy is survived by his wife, Cathy Van Hove, of Bowen, Illinois; his three children, Jeffrey (Elizabeth) Van Hove, of Bowen, Illinois, Joseph (Jenna) Van Hove, of Bowen, Illinois, and Samantha Van Hove, of Fort Madison, Iowa; his grandkids, Jostyn, Jensyn, Joelyn, Daniel, and Jameson; his siblings, Cheryl Huls, of Carthage, Illinois, Karen Ancelet, of Bettendorf, Iowa, and Terry (Jim) Goff, of Biggsville, Illinois. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jim Huls, Richard Ancelet, Jeff Huls, and Dewey Lindsey. A funeral service with Masonic Funeral Rites will be held at 6 pm on Friday, December 15, 2023, at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage. Visitation will be held from 3 pm until the start of the service. Memorials may be made out to the family for a college fund for the grandkids. Printy Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
