Raymond Schulte Obituary Raymond John Schulte Sr., 78 of Keokuk died at 2:35 am on Friday, March 4, 2011 at River Hills Village. He was born on March 29, 1932 a son of J.O. & Mae Kinkeade Galland in Otto, IA. He has lived in Keokuk since 1960. Ray served 3 years in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He worked at Dryden Rubber for many years until his retirement. Ray married Patricia Phillips on June 19, 1960 in Keokuk, IA. He was a member of First Lutheran Church. He had been a member of the VFW in Keokuk. Ray is survived by one son, Raymond John Schulte Jr. of Houston, Texas; one daughter, Lori Dunning and her husband Trevor of Potsdam, New York; four grandchildren, Sarah and Dara Schulte, Colby Hill and Caitlin Dunning; one great granddaughter, Haleigh Hill; one sister, Alice Parson of Kahoka, Missouri, and three sisters-in-law, Mary Carlson, Delores Johnson and Jean Schmid. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Patricia in 1996, one brother, Oliver Lund and one sister, Marie Cook. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, March 10, 2011, at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center on Concert Street with Rev. Rodney Underwood officiating. Burial with full military rites will follow at National Cemetery in Keokuk. Visitation will be after 3:00 PM Wednesday, March 9, 2011, at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center on Concert Street with family meeting friends from 6 to 8. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
