Robert Haislip Obituary Robert L. Haislip, 75, of Carthage, passed away at 7:15 P.M. Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Memorial Hospital in Carthage. Robert was born August 11, 1938, the son of Orval Lee and Rowena Esther (Elgin) Haislip in Carthage, Illinois. He graduated from Carthage High School in 1956 and later served in the U.S. Army. On July 24, 1960, he was united in marriage to Deanna Marie Lestina in Quincy, Illinois. She survives. Robert had worked as a manager for the A&P Stores in Carthage and Keokuk for many years. He later worked for Chem-gro in Hancock County and then worked for many years at NTN-Bower in Macomb retiring in 2002. Robert was known for his kind and helpful spirit. Robert is survived by his wife, Deanna Marie Haislip of Carthage; two sisters, Marcella Rose Dighton of Carthage and Jeanette (Don) Pfeiffer of Quincy; many nieces and nephews and his two dogs, Junior and Sweet Pea. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Carl Lee Haislip. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Monday, December 16, 2013 at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage with burial to follow in Moss Ridge Cemetery in Carthage. Visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Sunday evening at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society. Printy Funeral Home of Carthage is charge of arrangements.
