Robert Kay Obituary Robert Gene "Bob" Kay Sr., 75, of Keokuk, passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at his home.
Bob was born December 17, 1938 in Keokuk, to Henry Kay Sr. and Flora Anna Young Kay. He married Ida Malloy on May 29, 1964 in Kahoka, MO. She preceded him on July 13, 2007.
A life-long resident of Keokuk, Bob worked as a mechanic. He liked to fix things and worked on anything from cars to lawnmowers. He also liked fishing and turtle trapping. He loved his family and visiting with his friends.
He is survived by his three children, Robert Gene Kay Jr., Jenny (John) West and Jack (Talia) Kay all of Keokuk; his grandchildren, Miranda Lynn and Dustin M. Kay of Orlando, FL, Samantha and Chelsea Baker, Taylor Kay, Shane and Martin Reid, Micah and Jayden Kay, and step-grandson Marcus West, all of Keokuk; great-grandson Blake Baker; two brothers, Jack Kay of Keokuk and Doug Kay of Burlington; and several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife; a sister Marie Kay Hall; and four brothers, Henry Jr., Chester, Lawrence, and Billie Kay
Services will be held at 1 PM Tuesday, September 30, 2014, at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center on 917 Blondeau Street with Preacher Rick Schmidt officiating. Burial will follow at the Scandanavian Cemetery, in rural Keokuk.
Visitation will be before the service from 11 AM to 1 PM Tuesday at DeJong-Greaves.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
