Roger Sherer Obituary Roger Thomas Sherer, 78, of Carthage, IL, passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy. Tom was born on April 27, 1947, in Keokuk, IA. He was the son of Kenneth Sherer and Shirley Hayes. He graduated from Carthage High School. Shortly after, Tom joined the US Navy. He served in Vietnam, earning a Vietnam service medal. After returning, Tom continued to support and help the local VFW for most of his life. He also spent many years working in excavating. Tom is preceded in death by his parents. A graveside service will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Moss Ridge Cemetery in Carthage, IL, with military rites. Printy Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
