Ronald Brodie Obituary Ronald Glenn Brodie, 68, of Springfield, passed away early Friday morning, January 20, 2017, at St. Mary Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. Ron was born July 4, 1948, the son of Royt and Marjorie (Hofmeister) Brodie in Keokuk, Iowa. He graduated from Carthage High School in 1966 and trained as an x-ray technician in Louisville, Kentucky. He served in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1975 including overseas in Vietnam. He spent his career as an x-ray technician working in hospitals in the Ft. Lauderdale, Florida area. Ron came to know the Lord in the Ferris Christian Church. Ron is survived by six brothers and sisters, Steven (Karen) Brodie of St. Petersburg, Florida, Linda Brewer of Denver, Illinois, Barbara (Tim) Siddons of Springfield, Kevin (Nancy) Brodie of Jacksonville, Illinois, Julie (Steve) Robards of Newburgh, Indiana, and Jill (Dean) Trone of Athens, Alabama; many nieces and nephews; and close friend, Shirley Harrison. He was preceded in death by his parents; four siblings, Rita Gean, twins Roger and Rodney, and Christine; and a brother-in-law Jim Brewer. Memorials may be directed to the Salvation Army or Disabled Veterans of America. A gathering of friends and family will be held from 10 to 11 AM on Friday, April 28, 2017, at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, April 28, at Moss Ridge Cemetery in Carthage, following the gathering at the funeral home.
