Ronald Yarrington Obituary Ronald Stuart Yarrington, 66, originally of Keokuk, died at 10:20 PM Friday, September 16, 2011, at Kewanee Hospital in Kewanee, Illinois. Ronald was born September 7, 1945, in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of Marion and Dorothy Montague Yarrington. He graduated from Keokuk High School in 1964 and attended Keokuk Community College and Western Illinois University. He received a Certificate in Electronics from Wake Technical Institute in Raleigh, North Carolina. Ron served two enlistments in the United States Navy, 1965 to 1969 and 1975 to 1981. He went through several training programs in the Navy and was a sonar technician and a Chief Petty Officer. He received an Expedition Medal, a Vietnam Medal and two Good Conduct Medals. He traveled extensively in the Navy and enjoyed telling that had been around the world twice and south of the equator once. He worked as an electronics technician until becoming disabled about 1995. He had lived in Des Moines and Marshalltown, Iowa, but recently returned to Keokuk. He had been a member of First Baptist Church in Keokuk. He is survived by two sisters, Chris Denson of Springfield, Illinois, and Kathy Carlton (Daniel) of Keokuk; a brother, Jerry Yarrington of Kansas City, Missouri; nieces and nephews, Brenda Yarrington of Texas, Becky Nelson (Dave) of St. Louis, Missouri, Matt Denson (Bob Benson) of Springfield, Illinois, Tammy Lorigan of Keokuk, Kevin Lorigan (Cathy) of Branson, Missouri, Nicole Mason (Todd) of Table Grove, Illinois, and Jess Carlton of Keokuk; numerous great nieces and great nephews; one great great niece; and an aunt, Helen Boddy of Keokuk.
