Russell Lawson Obituary Russell Lawson, 94, of Plymouth, passed away at the Cedar Creek Health Campus in Lowell, Indiana on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at 4:02 PM. Russell was born December 30, 1927, the son of Lloyd and Florence (Maddox) Lawson in rural Macomb. He met his wife, Marie Melvin, at Western Illinois University and they were married December 28, 1947, at the Old Bedford Christian Church near Blandinsville, Illinois. She preceded him in death in 2018. Russell served in the Army National Guard and was a lifelong farmer in the Macomb and Plymouth communities. During that time he also had a corn shelling business and later sold and serviced Vermeer hay equipment until his retirement. He was a member of the Denver Christian Church. Russell was quite active in the Masonic Lodge having been past Master and District Deputy. He was a member of Denver #464, Burnside #635, and Industry #27 and Quincy Consistory. He was an honorary member of Lima, Plymouth, Rushville, Hancock (Carthage), Blackhawk, and Bodley (Quincy). Russell is survived by three children, Roger (Linda) Lawson of Springfield, Illinois, James (Gina) Lawson of Humble, Texas and Joyce Lawson of Crown Point, Indiana; seven grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and a sister, Norma Starbuck of Lewistown, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his wife Marie (Melvin); parents Lloyd and Florence (Maddox); and one sister Virginia Wheeler; and one great grandchild, Jaide Lawson. Funeral services will be held at the Denver Christian Church in Denver, Illinois, Saturday, October 29, 2022, at 10:00 AM with burial to follow in the Harmony Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00 7:00 PM Friday evening at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage with family meeting friends from 5:00 7:00 PM. A masonic service will follow the visitation at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Printy Funeral Home of Carthage is in charge of arrangements.
