Obituary

Ruth June Taylor, 101, of Hamilton, passed away at 8:28 PM, Monday, August 24, 2026, at the Illinois Veteran’s Home in Quincy.

Ruth was born Easter Sunday, April 12, 1925, southeast of Carthage, the daughter of Walter “Harvey” and Jennie V. (Cox) Jones. She attended country grade schools and graduated from Hamilton High School. On February 7, 1942, she was united in marriage to Russell D. Taylor in Kahoka, Missouri. He preceded her in death in 1986.

Ruth had worked as an accounting clerk. She was a fifty-year member of the First Christian Church in Hamilton and a past member of the King’s Daughters and Entre Nous.

Ruth is survived by her sons, Derryl “Dusty” (Karen) Taylor of Bailey, Colorado and Danny L. (Patty) Taylor of Hamilton; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Russell; her daughter, Bonnie Taylor; and five siblings, Elizabeth “Ellen” Noyes, Edna Maxine Carr, James M. Jones, Aurthur M. Jones and Walter Jones.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Printy Funeral Home of Hamilton is in charge of arrangements.
