Shirley Stephenson Obituary Shirley Stephenson, 86, of Carthage, passed away at 2:25 AM Wednesday morning, March 29, 2023, at the Wesley Village in Macomb. Shirley was born August 12, 1936, the daughter of Maurice and Frances (Dunn) Housewright in Lacrosse, Illinois. In 1970, she was united in marriage to Lyle Stephenson in Kahoka, Missouri. He preceded her in death in 1984. Shirley was well-known in the area, working most of her life as a waitress in Carthage area, especially the Towne House. Shirley is survived by her children, Marla (Eldon) Bruns of Loraine, Karla Johnson of Carthage, Robert Reed of Weaver, Iowa, Terry Reed of Ft. Madison, Iowa, Barbara (Bill Cleesen) Krueger of Carthage and Misty Stephenson; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and one brother, Robert (Reva) Housewright of Burlington. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Elaine Duncan; and grandchildren, Tori Jo Johnson Sohm and Tyler Johnson. Private family services will be held at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage. Memorials may be made to donors choice.
